Pros

Experience with children You learn a lot about swimming They train you fully in if you have absolutly no swim experience Decent pay for younger people/students hours stay the same Rewarding

Cons

Physically demanding You can't work too many hours because of the nature of the job A to of water exposer means your skin will constantly smell like chlorine, your hair is depleted of moisture Winters are brutal because you are wet when you leave

Pros

It is so much fun to work here! Not only do you get to teach kids very important skills, you get trained by and work with an incredible staff! The management team have all taught classes extensively and can help with any questions or issues that come up, and provide top notch training to new hires. I have been teaching here for over 5 years and this job inspired me to pursue a career as a pediatric occupational therapist. But even when my new career starts, I will still want to teach here.

Cons

Working with kids can be challenging, and working with kids in a pool can be even more challenging. But even though the job isn't always easy, it is always worth it when you see how happy the kids are.

Pros

People there are great. Food is provided most of the time. Relatively easy job working with kids. Very time flexible.

Cons

Long shifts with no breaks in between. Constant working. You have to deal with parents and kids crying. Chlorine is pretty high. Inservices every month.
