Pros

Rewards your hard work very well. Has very smart people. Firm's culture is very good. Managers are highly competent. You are not treated as a resource but as an asset of the firm. CEO says our employees are also our clients.

Cons

If you don't like to be proactive and take responsibilities then Goldman is not the place for you. You may have to sacrifice personal life to grow fast in the firm.

Big name. Looks good on resume.

Cons

Low pay. If you are junior, expect to be paid 30%+ less than other places, especially technology firms. The management takes pride in keeping people for the least pay possible, which is disgusting. VP+ people seems generally satisfied with their pay though. So advise: get to senior level in tech firms then jump to GS.

1. Good people. 2. Good pay 3. Chance to understand i-banking domain other services provided by the firm like when travelling to on-site etc are good.

Cons

poor work-life balance most managers are managers just because they stayed for long time in organisation, not because of competence. not cutting edge technologies, so technically growth will be less( with the exception of very few teams ) heavy amounts of support work in bangalore
