Pros

Fair working environment - not leading edge.

Cons

Goldman is a very strange mixture of people. Some people are very smart, people who make very big contribution both inside and outside the company. However, at least in technology where most of my experience is, there are a number of people who are either completely un-motivated or just not smart at all. I'd like to refrain from saying they are dumb because that would probably be off the mark, but I have seen a much higher number of people who don't know what they are doing. The corporate culture, as I see it, is very arrogant. I've found about a 50/50 split between people who are very full of themselves and people who are normal, decent people.

Pros

Flexibilility in time off. No limits on the time you take (i.e. 3 times in a 3 month period, then you are written up). Noone asks why you are taking the time. Training is top notch and the name will open doors for you. Advnacement is touted, but you really have to earn it.

Cons

They are quick to lay off. Your really have to prove yourself. They are extremely task oriented, but ate the same time there is alot of favoritism and if you are not within the clique, then you have limited potential.

Pros

Okay Pay, Good company name on a resume

Cons

Only pay half for overtime (NOT time & a half), environment is EXTREMELY toxic and degrading, required to work 50 hrs minimum but they usually work you more (11hrs a day Mon-Fri), will ask you to come in on the weekends (still only receiving half pay), It does not have a lot of opportunities for growth anymore. Personally did not get trained well, while being expected to do everything perfectly on the first try. Finally quitting the job and will never go back.
