Pros

Growing Tech Company Great CEO Many great leaders Great product when it worked Many great employees

Cons

A couple of the worst managers I've ever worked around. Micromanaged. Several times a day KPI's were sent out. Often the KPIs weren't showing the correct numbers because the product wasn't working. My previous job was extremely demanding, however, this was more draining because of the constant hounding No praise, You did something good? expect to be asked how you can do better with no positive feedback. The product was extremely glitchy even for employees. Almost every day there were issues. When it worked, I loved it. Asked to complete tasks while on PTO several times May or may not have time for lunch even if you're working 8-5 ( No understanding if you're not hitting KPIs, even if you're getting OPPs) AEs for the most part had a horrible relationship with the SDR side (this can be typical but still frustrating) Had no idea what value Managers, directors, or VPs brought. Managers felt more like babysitters, a few were great coaches, and the others babysat Recruiters oversold how many reps were attaining quota by a long shot We preached to other companies to stop "spraying and praying" by using Gong- We were told to spray and pray Some managers were very critical but they didn't have the skill sets needed to help.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. We appreciate your positive comments on our CEO and teams, but it's disheartening to hear about your feelings of micro-management and daily pressure. Empowerment is central to our culture; we trust and aim to give autonomy to employees, allowing them to navigate challenges while seeking support when needed. Skill development and fostering growth are also core tenets of our culture, we invest in leadership enablement so managers have the tools they need to coach effectively but apologize if this hasn’t been your experience. We are always looking for ways to improve; if you have additional feedback, please reach out directly if you feel comfortable. - Laura Wilson (Intierm CPO)

Pros

Best in class product. Amazing enablement and onboarding

Cons

Gong sells the dream to candidates in the interview process. You are promised an abundance of inbound leads and told most of the reps are "printing money". Maybe at one point that was true, but it is no longer the case. If you work here be prepared for an intense amount of micromanaging, with a suffocating Coaching Plan /PIP culture. Another review on here states that the coaching plans and pips made it seem like "the sky was falling at all times". Which is the most accurate thing I have ever read. In early 2023 there was a reorg that restructured the segments. Commercial seems to mostly be doing well, while Mid Market is left to starve and produce 90% of their own pipeline. Its not realistic and leads to severe burn out. The SDR engine is broken. All of this resulting in the worst sales culture and team morale. Everyone is stressed and miserable. Due to the pressure from leadership, we are made to feel like WE are the problem we aren't successful, we are lazy, and to work harder.

Thanks for your candid feedback. We're glad you appreciate our product, onboarding, and enablement, but reading your concerns about org changes and sales culture was difficult. We are expanding in a dynamic market, and evolving as we grow. We continuously seek ways to enhance our strategy in response to market and customer needs, and occasionally, this leads to changes, but the success of every team and every employee is always a top priority. We apologize if your experience has fallen short. Feel free to reach out if you wish to discuss this further. - Laura Wilson (Intierm CPO)

Pros

Amazing product, world-class engineering team, surrounded by top sellers and extremely high caliber of talent

Cons

Gong is pricing itself out of the MM/ENT space. New messaging and new processes are constantly being rolled out and then changed again every few months. Very few people will exceed quota this year and company culture seems to have taken a nosedive with feelings of uncertainty over what next year will look like and if we’ll be set up for success

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We appreciate your recognition of our amazing platform and world-class engineering team. Gong is growing in a new category, where the market is evolving rapidly. We are always looking for ways to refine our approach to better align with market and customer demands, and sometimes that does result in change. We strive for all of our employees to be successful, and we apologize if that hasn’t been your experience. Please reach out if you’d like to discuss in more detail. - Laura Wilson (Intierm CPO)
