Pros

Shared common alignment towards putting the mission first. They really care about the people they help and maximizing their impact. Most of the executive team is really good with great rapport. This is one of the few places that even with previous incarceration or other typical challenges, you can become a manager and really contribute as well as make some good money. They truly believe in second chances.

Cons

CEO is very new and does not exactly fit in with the rest of the executive team; has not yet earned the respect of the staff throughout the organization even at lower levels. Poor communication of all the good they do; most of the public is aware of only about 10% of the incredible mission work they do. CEO recently mandated certain days in the office, even though allowing people to work remotely was working really well. Sure a couple people probably abused it but why screw that up in a tight labor market like this when 98% of the staff are not abusing it. Heck - you probably save that 2% in less toilet paper and water usage to offset.

Pros

Flexible schedule. If you like flexibility with nobody holding you accountable and no uniform set of standards, here you go. Soak it in because that is the only perk you get. I would say working with the clients is a reward, but it is very disappointing when management drops the ball on program funding, and we leave the clients high and dry.

Cons

HIGH turnover company-wide. Workforce Development. I went through five supervisor changes in about a year. Eventually became my own supervisor, taking on duties with no promotion. I saw about 50% of my department leave in my almost 2 years there, not to mention the high number of people leaving the company in general. If you do your job well, you are overworked with no promotion in sight; discrimination.

Pros

My fellow co-workers. The people that stuck around through the abuse and awful treatment we suffered through.

Cons

Management, hours, pay, lack of proper compensation when injured
