Pros

bonus is back but it has been a long time and wait three months it may be gone again. better employee discount program than ever before, now you might be able to have your car fixed where you work.

Cons

Inadequate training in advanced areas for technicians. lack of common sense when it comes to real world, day to day retail operations. complain about results and ridicule managers even if one poor day in sales after 20 block buster days. district managers threaten firing when they want to motivate staff. store closings less common now but these are other threats made even when sales are up when goals are not being met.

Pros

When I started it was a great place to work

Cons

No raise in 2 years before that 2% raise max. Constant threats of losing job or closing location. Too much needless paperwork. No opportunities for advancement or promotions. Bonuses are almost impossible to achieve. Huge sales increases are expected. Smaller volume stores suffer under current programs

Pros

Goodyear provides great employee benefits and at- or above-market pay rates. It is a great brand, they make a great product, and there are many smart, hard-working, excellent people throughout the company (including the vast majority of leadership positions).

Cons

The retail division has evidently been in constant turmoil for many years - a place where the senior management is given 2 years and then promoted up or out of the division. The last several leadership teams have been dismissed, and the division has had no stability or clear direction for many years. This has resulted in a cynical, change-resisting field organization, where the retail division has failed to leverage the Goodyear brand to grow that part of the organization.
