Pros

Google is still a great tech company on the innovation front with very capable products with several multi-billion dollar businesses. For employees, the perks can't get any better in the Tech sector. Great people to work with.

Cons

* Career growth for engineering managers is a struggle. The company made the mistake of over hiring so many mid/senior level managers during the pandemic. But the growth didn't happen. In fact, the opposite where headcount was removed. Existing managers that have been at Google are "stuck" and senior leadership doesn't seem to want to get rid of these new managers or promote from within. * The 2023 - 2034 layoffs have eroded psychological safety. I've seen many talented engineers and manager get their roles eliminated which leaves the remaining member to pick up the extra load.

WLB is still good but I cannot tell for any critical teams that would have longer than normal working hours.

The organization is too big which causes slow in decision and moving forward.
