Pros

Commissioned sales salary is nice.

Cons

no work life balance sales reps wear too many hats (new business developer; current account manager; accounts receivable collector; order fixing errors; preparing quotes and bids; Support from inside team can be hard to come by. You get several different answers on the same question depending who you ask.

Pros

-The people are fantastic! Management, sales team, marketing, warehouse and drivers make you feel confident that you have a solid support team behind you. -The company really does live the culture/values. Being privately held, they are able to take care of their employees in a way many public companies cannot. They are always growing too! -Good Benefits- company car, expenses (phone/parking/wifi card/car wash) paid for. -Currently, you don't have to do a ton of paperwork/reporting, although that seems to be changing. -They try to place you in a territory close to where you live (although there are always exceptions).

Cons

-High-pressure situations. This can cause a good amount of turnover within the sales teams. In my region, it seems like there are lifers (10+ years in the field) and those that burn out (1-3 years). -Commissions can be on the low end. -Work days can be long. Work-Balance is tough to achieve with mandatory work on weekends and sometimes holidays. Sometimes physically demanding (carrying products to customers). -Some disconnect with office employees and field employees. Not uncommon in most companies, though.

Cons

Pay is on the lower end of the spectrum, and internal advancements are very tough.
