      No benefits, no perks, lousy hourly pay and comm.

      Pros

      Working at home is nice, but they're are a ton of places that will pay more per hour and bonuses for selling deals.

      Cons

      Owner is a complete space cadet and doesn't care about how the culture of his company goes downhill. I've been with the company for around 3 years, and realized how much more I can get from other opportunities.

      Pros

      You don't have to work to get new clients, they will call you about them. They're fairly hands off and let you do your own thing.

      Cons

      It took months after being accepted before I was finally given a student to tutor. They don't provide any materials/lessons so you need to come up with everything yourself, out of pocket.

      Pros

      Flexible hours and schedule. They find your students for you - no hassle or effort in your part. Easy way to make some extra money. All of my students have been great!

      Cons

      Because the company has to make money too, you make a little less than a private tutor might. For me, it’s worth it to not have to find my own students independently, especially because I don’t have a credential and just tutor on the side. The company gives me more credibility and therefore more work than I would get on my own, even though I’m a great tutor, and have had success with all my students. Only other issue is that you may have period of time with no students. This has been true for me for 1-2 months at a time when I move to a new location.
