Pros

The company has been in business for a long time and the people who work there have been around a long time as well so you can usually get a question answered quickly. People are willing to help.

Cons

You have no control over the goals that are set for you and they are usually astronomically high and impossible to reach. Everyone in the company talks about hitting "goal" but it is very difficult to do even that, unless you are placed in a good area right off the bat. You are micro-managed at every level even though they tell you that it's your business and you should work it the way you want to work it.

Not what it used to be

Pros

Benefits package is exceptional. The health/dental/vision plans are lower than almost everywhere. Retirement plans used to be top of the industry, but the shareholders complained and now it is average. Pay rate is more than fair.

Cons

Internal promotions are rare. Prepare to sit on the "bench" for a while. Company has too many managers. Outside candidates get first look versus internal candidates.
