Pros

Profit sharing is second to none. Benefits including time off and health care insurance are great. They are a very customer and employee focused company.

Cons

HR does not support management with difficult employee situations and makes manager look bad for not handling clear issues with employees. There is a push always to focus on moving to the next position.

Pros

Grainger pays competitively, the benefits are good, and it is great to work for a dominant market leader in your industry.

Cons

Advancing through the company is very political and opportunities seem to come rarely. There seems to be no focus on hiring internally and often well qualified internal candidates are passed over for seemingly under qualified external hires.
