Pros

W.W.Grainger has good pay for interns and helps expose them to the executives of the company. The internship program is designed to give interns a sight into how Grainger runs as a company and its core business.

Cons

The company is run too lean for employees to devote enough time to interns to give them appropriate work. Because of the time constraints on my team, I was given meaningless tasks to complete for the entire summer instead of a small-medium sized project which was boasted about during multiple rounds of interviews. Additionally, although my interviewers talked about the low power distance, I felt isolated from even my manager during my internship.

Pros

Relevant items to sell. Company car.

Cons

Hours are way too long. Pay is not fair for whats expected. Management is constantly putting their foot in mouth. No room for growth in any area other than lake forest.

Pros

Grainger has the opportunity to really teach you about the skills needed in the workforce and how to fine tune them. They have great benefits and the salaries are resonable.

Cons

Grainger is very micro-managed. They monitor and watch every move you make and many of the tasks are mundane and unessacary. Plus it is harder to move up than they portray.
