Pros

The main drawback with Grainger is the lack of investing in employees for future career growth. It is very hard to go from a non-exempt position to an exempt position. Also, middle management is clueless on what is eveb going on half the time.

Cons

Grainger does have good benefits - tuition reimbursement and medical/dental/vision benefits, as well as profit sharing which was a plus

Pros

Grainger has an outstanding work environment and work/life balance. The benefits and retirement package is beyond anything I have seen at any other company, and was a significant reason for coming to Granger. You really get the feeling that they care about thier employees

Cons

Company could use more outside blood to energize new ideas.

Pros

Great salary! Improved in the area of supporting managersand allowing them to be innovative and try new things to growing customer revenue.

Cons

Needs to continue to try and standardize and leverage the go to market strategy of the different regions. It's great to have freedom in how to execute the value proposition, but it also leads to some drastically different ways of conducting business that makes us look like we are all on a different page when dealing with a customer that might have multiple locations. There are some key people in leadership, including HR that that have some serious integrity issues, that most likely will never be corrected because they have too much annonymity to do as they please.
