Granicus holds potential unfortunately, inexperienced management creates a wall in the evolution of this small company.
Pros
Small company with an extreme amount of potential in developing into a Class-A work environment. A relaxed yet highly competitive atmosphere lends itself to potential innovative thinking possibilities. Management welcomes input in all areas of business from all employees. Having only government entities as clientele, the customer base is familiar with one another.
Cons
Upper level management including human resources has little business experience and expertise which becomes apparent through the many business development model changes. Sales projections are unrealistic given the tight economic situation and often leads to disappointment. Granicus seems to prefer hiring employees direct from college / university rather than focusing on obtaining seasoned and highly skilled experts in their field. The friendly and relaxed atmosphere results from most employees having a preexisting relationship with one another prior to employment with the company. New positions and position vacancies are not communicated in house prior to management seeking an outside candidate. Two separate lay-offs in approximately six months which included the most seasoned employees has left the company with a "green" or unprepared workforce resulting in nervousness and questions of job stability.
