Pros

Free snacks Generally good people except those in leadership positions Transportation stipend Good work-life balance

Cons

Granicus is owned by private equity and as such is in the process of being fattened up to be sold again at some point. Unfortunately this had lead leadership to worry more about making the company seem like a good place to work instead of actually being a good place to work. I've never worked at a more bizarre company that essentially has zero culture or mission. Basically Granicus acquires other companies and does nothing to integrate the new teams or bring people together. What you're left with are internal frustrations and politics that make it extremely difficult to get things done regardless of your role. Pair that with the fact that our products are very outdated and constantly failing and you end up with a pretty mediocre company with increasingly frustrated customers. Communication between departments and management is terrible and policies are rarely documented leading to constant confusion and distrust. A ton of fake reviews have been posted recently so be wary of ones with phrases like "embrace change". Oh and did I mention the lack of diversity?

Old Granicus was awesome, new K1 Granicus not so great!

Pros

The old Granicus when under the leadership of the founders was a fantastic place to work. The founders built the company on an awesome culture and almost everyone loved their jobs. I loved my job, loved my manger and loved who I worked with. But then came a company called K1. They deiced to buy the company out, get rid of the leadership team including the loved CEO - brought in a CEO who has no CEO experience but claims he has been CEO four or five times before.

Cons

Those who are looking at Granicus for a new career. I would highly recommend you be cautious of joining this company. The ultimate plan K1(k1capital.com) has for Granicus is to sell the company off again once they are highly profitable for a huge profit. So, your job security won't really be there. Once they sell again, who knows where the company will move AGAIN.

A Losing Battle

Pros

-You'll meet some lovely colleagues and trauma bond over the internal inefficiencies and disaster that is customer support -Unplug day once per quarter is a nice perk

Cons

Granicus has built a very negative reputation with most of its customer base. Rebuild and repair is the name of the game here. They've recently acquired dozens of companies trying to package them as a single platform. It's a Frankenstein of unintegrated solutions in a trench coat. Many of these solutions overlap and cannibalize each other. And it's common of the customer base who got "acquired" that they're actively looking for alternatives. It's a bundle of point solutions sold to customers as a single 'enterprise' platform. Once the platform is sold, forget about Customer Experience. There are no CX measures as far as I can tell and you will spend a huge amount of your time trying to compensate for failures you can't control (support, CS, product, roadmap, etc.) Steer clear of this one unless you enjoy frantically bucketing water from a sinking ship.
