Pros

Nice gym. Free parking. Close to MBTA. Close to highway. Doesn't take long to figure out how much it sucks.

Cons

Degree requirement for low pay. Worst training imaginable. A majority of low functioning social retards. Absolutely horrible cafeteria. Required Mind numbing "Monday Morning Meetings" with the CEO and upper management.

Pros

A good way to see what the corporate world can be like. As a girl you can wear almost whatever you want so that's a plus. If you're really smart you will get a lot of responsibilities which looks great on your resume. The philanthropy is top notch.

Cons

You will be treated like you are a means to an end. That end being putting money in the pockets of management. There's nothing challenging or difficult and askin for more means you get more menial responsibilities with no increase in pay.

Pros

Granite is very passionate about charity and some of my co-workers were cool and helpful.

Cons

The social media & campus recruiter for Granite here on Glassdoor tries so hard to cover up Granite's harsh and ridiculous strict policies towards it's employees that it's pretty sad. Even if they have to respond with lies and false marketing to peoples post for being honest and critical about Granite's policies and treatment of their employees. So I'm going to illustrate here both sides of the story so you don't think I have some sort of bias towards Granite. My experience: When i first started out at Granite many of my co-workers told me no matter what the weather condition, even if it's severe blizzard outside, you would still have to come in and work. If you don't they would deducted from your paid time off (PTO). Granite story: "Thank you for your feedback and taking the time to write this review. Our employees safety is always our #1 concern. We advise our employees if they do not feel safe driving in certain weather conditions then they should not. When there is a state of emergency, employees can use a vacation day or take an unpaid day at their discretion." This is obvious that Granite PR rep is trying to cover my story up with fluff and lies. You can easily tell. My experience: When I was working for Granite, it just so happened that it was my time to go see my doctor for a refill of my prescription medication and give my doctor an update on my condition. so I asked my supervisor if if I could take the following day off to go see my doctor. But to my surprise my supervisor told em that Granite employees are only allowed 4 hours per week for doctors appointment, or doctors appointment must be conducted outside of my work hours, and you have to bring a signed doctors note. I shocked and pretty pissed off as how ridiculous Granite's policy is towards it's employees. F.Y.I. they don't tell you these things at the new employee orientation. Granite Story: "When it comes to our sick time policy, or going to a doctor’s appointment. Temporary as well as full time employees are allowed to take as much time as needed to go to the doctors. Also a doctor’s note is not required for being out 1 day, it is only required if someone has been out sick for over a 3 consecutive day period." wow! Granite sure did hire a good PR rep that's really good at distorting the truth. Ultimately it's up to you as a prospective employee as who to believe; a Granite PR rep or a real person who worked and and experience the real side of Granite Telecommunications. If you still don't believe me, then go work for Granite and test it out, see for yourself.
