I was at Granite for about 6 years and it nearly tripled in size when I left. Unfortunately, I don't think Granite managed its growth as well as they could have. Due to their lack of employee appreciation, people were in and out of there like rotating doors. They would leave the company or do lateral moves into other departments. I felt because of this, a lot of people there did not know their jobs well as they should and this includes supervisors and managers.
There is no Human Resource department at Granite. If you are having any work related issues, you need to see the Senior Corporate Counsel which I find extremely unusual for a company of 1000+ employees.
There are no annual pay raises but they do (try to) compensate by giving free lunches and days off here and there.
