Having worked in many south Florida sales companies, I can unequivocally say that this company is truly unmatched in this space. Please do yourselves the favor and take a serious look at working here. The opportunities you find at Granite are truly endless.

Cons

No cons - It's work. I see other reviews giving Granite 1 Star because you can't work from home?! What a joke!!

-More like an internship. You learn a lot and fast. -Young culture great for fresh out of college kids

Pros

It might be a stable “job” but ONLY if you work your way inside the Presidents “circle”.

Cons

There are way too many Cons to speak of but here are a few: * GRANITE SALARIES are generally about 20-40% lower than other similar positions in the industry. Of course you get what you pay for and when you’re depending on highly skilled pre-sales engineers or provisioners to assist then you’re pretty much out of luck. * THE PRESIDENT of Granite is horrible and lives in his own bubble – multiple issues here: (1) At one all hands meeting last year, he AGGRESSIVELY PRESSURED everyone to vote for Hillary Clinton in the Presidential election because it was “Good for Granite” and even went on to insinuate that he’s a heavy donor to her election and once she’s in office, favors would flow back to them in Washington where they need influence with the FCC. Wow… as a president of an American company he should recognize that this type of pressure is extremely bad form and likely hinges on unethical. It was also mentioned that if you had different political views than him then DON’T bring it up because you’ll be ostracized within the company. (2) In one All Hands Call the President kicked off the meeting by saying “this is not really a threat but…” then went on to say how disappointed he was that Granite was not recognized as one of “The Best Places To Work in Boston”, “and if you don’t like working at Granite then LEAVE!”, he made a habit of repeating this message at different times during my tenure and was more than happy to used extremely foul language. (3) It would be worth noting what happened to his last company where he left with millions of dollars in his pockets, then closed the doors and sent all of his employees walking when times got tough. * UPPER MANAGEMENT has only a few what I’d call “professional people” but unfortunately it makes little impact to the overall Corporate Character of the company, with Granite being a Boston based business, the harsh personality that is inherent in the Northeast governs the attitude of Granite, thus finding pleasant and professional people within the ranks of Granite seem to be an anomaly. * GRANITE has major issues with “PROCESS”, and although a lot of the time things do get done its only because of an incredible amount of manual work rather than smart & efficient processes. If you’re planning on being a part of the team just recognize that you’re entering into unstructured kayos and will need to work harder than necessary and learn unconventional ways to simply get the job done. * SALES CONFLICT is rampant; it’s a dog eat dog environment! This applied not only to intense and unscrupulous competition internally to find and sign customers, but also with the “channel partners” that sell as third-party vendors. Everyone steals customers from everyone else, there is nothing sacred and the biggest losers are the customers and anyone trying to work ethically.
