Pros

There are absolutely NO PROS to inform you of this horrible slave driving, corporate scum sales driven company. I actually can't believe it didn't crash and burn like Mr. Hale's first attempt of a telecom business co.

Cons

There are far too many to list out all the cons. For starters upper management talk trash about everyone that they think stand out, or are different and dont fit the butt kissing cookie cutter existence. It's horrible to see someone whom is a manager of high level accounts literally talk behind his own teams backs...ive witnessed first hand seeing this little guy telling one of his employees that they did a great job on an account to their face, then turn around and not only bash them to the other upper managers, but also take credit for that employees hard work when speaking to the CEO and COO!

Pros

Granite is a happy and welcoming environment for all its employees, for entry level position it is great and there is a lot of opportunity for advancement. I have been at Granite for 6 years and I don't have much to complain about, the company itself is a billion dollar company and has great ethics in terms of events for its employee's families and the community. Granite is a a great location close to the T and the high way if necessary. I think Granite provides a lot of room for growth for its employees.. you come to work do your job and you get paid its simple as that. A lot of the people who complain or are unhappy with their jobs are lazy and expect everything on a silver platter when they put in 20% of what is expected. Give what you want to receive.

Cons

Some of the downfalls is the pay.. granted pay is not low but pay could be higher compared to the rest of the industry. Pay scale is not even throughout the company.

Pros

The location is great, right by the train station, Boston is right over the bridge, etc. The cafeteria's food is not that bad either, and the big bosses don't stop smiling(partially because they're happy to see you, majority because they're billionaires). They do hold weekly meetings though, which was nice. They are extremely goal oriented and that is why they have had so much success.

Cons

The work environment is so hideous that it literally drains your spirit when you walk into the building. Who knows when the last time that carpet was replaced, 90% of the cubicles look like they have coffee stains on them, and the employees literally do the same thing every. single. DAY. Now, I understand the appearance isn't the most important part but COME ON, we are in 2015 and you are telling me you're a debt free BILLION DOLLAR company and you can't make the place look a little more welcoming and happy? You walk in and its like "damn, this place looks horrible". Besides that, the real reason why I gave them only 1 star is because the training was horrible. The woman who led training/orientation not only did not train us properly, but she would sit there and talk about her diet the entire time and how great of an employee she is. She couldn't even train properly. Not only that, but she made me and half of the other employees in orientation super uncomfortable with her use of the word "ghetto". She sat for an hour and explained how a lot of, "ghetto" people used to work at the company and they changed their method of hiring due to this(they switched to hiring majority of college grads). I will let you take that however you'd like to, because apparently people who don't have a college education are "ghetto". And apparently, "ghetto" is an adjective now. I don't know how she had anytime to label people as "ghetto" when she looked a hot mess her damn self. I don't know why she sat for an hour and a half talking about her diet(that no one cared about) when it clearly wasn't doing any justice to her appearance. Over all, I think granite has a lot of maturing to do in their training department. It was the third week and me and my co-workers that I started with were already talking about seeking other employment. If you work there, good luck.
