Pros

Good work environment, very successfull company. Give many employee accolades for doing a good job. Decent benefits including tuiition reimbursement, free gym, health insurance including dental/vision, competitive 401k, bonuses, etc. Good management in place.

Cons

Somewhat strict, i.e the 8:01 you're late mentality and a strict 1 hour for lunch. Very uneven distribution of work. No snow days even when the weather is very dangerous outside and there is no public transportation available so you must drive.

Pros

Free gym, benefits, proximity to public transportation, diversity, young company

Cons

Rigid work schedule (militant): Even if you're 1 minute late, you are written up. Lunch is 12:00 pm- 1:00 pm for everyone. Everyone is basically on the same schedule, which makes it feels like you're in prison. They have camera's that monitor when people come in and out, and even secret snitches who will rat you out to upper management if you're frequently late. They have even started locking the doors in the morning until 8:00. Punctuality is key and that's understandable, but quite frankly, it's shouldn't be enforced so harshly. We are all adults, not children. Employee appreciation: while Granite tries to show employee appreciation via employee of the week and month with gift cards and what not, they could do better. For the most part, most employees feel disposable and unappreciated. Young Company: great for the company in terms of longevity and rates for benefits since for the most part everyone is healthy; not so good for employees who have to deal with immature managers who make decisions based on emotion and not on facts. Young and inexperienced managers who for the most part don't know what they're doing. They are just puppets. Compensation: Unless you're a VP or sales person, you're being short changed. Coming in as a temp, you are given one salary and that's to make sure you stay long enough to go permanent. Once you go permanent, they will decrease it, saying that "it's not in the budget". So you didn't know it wasn't in the budget before you went hiring folks??? Riiiiiggggght. Dress code: What dress code??? Company culture: seems like it's every man for himself. Put it this way, at least with your enemies, you know what you're getting. It's your "friends" you have to worry about. Career growth: If you're into telecommunications, great. But you better come in as a VP, HR, or sales. Because other than that, there is not much room for growth. You can become very stagnant and comfortable, and most of those skills are NOT transferable unless you go to another telecomm company, or have management skills.

Pros

Are you looking to be cheated out of commission? Do you want to work long hours for no pay? Do you want to be treated like a child? Do you want to feel your personal health and safety mean nothing? Then Granite is the place for you. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, Granite is the place for you to loose money, self respect and financial freedom. If you stay too long, you'll be left with empty dreams of financial freedom and have the ability to trump your friends at dinner parties when the subject comes up about "Bad Companies To Work For". You'll be able to hold your head up and say "Yes I Worked For The Worst Company on Glassdoor". Its an accolade I would strongly recommend you avoid if you can. On the bright side, if you have a pulse you can get a job there.

Cons

Granite is a place where enthusiasm and passion go to die. There culture is built on constant back stabbing, the longer term employees steal accounts and commission from newer employees working hard to make the money that is promised. Management and Senior Management rewards such behavior and builds a culture of non-ethics and unprofessionalism. Regardless of how hard you work and how much opportunity you create, your accounts are just a click away from being stolen and commissions awarded to people within the organization who have no experience with the acct. Its a waiting game, Senior Management waits until your not looking or they fire you to reap the benefits or your hard work. The culture is absolutely unprofessional and rewards those looking to cheat the system, your treated as a child told work starts at 8:00, ends at 5:00 and your lucky to survive the dash to the parking lot. Snow means nothing, when the state closes the highways you are still expected to be at your desk at 8:00, and you sacrifice a vacation day if you don't make it in. So that being said, employee health and safety mean nothing, its all about how much money they can make off you and how little they have to pay you for your effort.
