Pros

You can take up to 20 hours of overtime for training per pay period, and compensate you for any certifications passed that enhance your knowledge in your job role. You need to stay 6 months after completion so they don't take that money out of your final paycheck. Use and abuse this, Study as hard as you can, get the CompTIA trifecta(A+/Net+/Sec+) or whatever certifications you are trying to get, and run. If you are here longer than 3 years, you need to be thinking hard about what you actually want to do with your career.

Cons

Do not believe anything that management says about promotions, raises, movement, etc. They will be blocked by upper management for arbitrary reasons. Even if you get something in writing, all you've done is wasted ink and paper for a promise that will never be fulfilled. Upper management is completely out of touch and is actively pulling in 4 different directions simultaneously. The COO has no idea what he's doing, and if you do not agree with him, he will blacklist you and bad mouth you to other companies so you cannot leave. If a lawsuit doesn't occur because of his actions, I will be extremely surprised. After 3 years of his malarkey, the merger between the Access and NOC teams finally went through, and it's been an absolute disaster with nobody knowing who does what even more than they already didn't know. Additionally, he is the final say on any promotion or raise. What that means is that your paperwork will sit on his desk unsigned until he gets around to throwing it in the trash because the company has frozen promotions and raises, AGAIN. The CPO is a self congratulatory narcissist, who will go over the heads of the people in charge of running their departments to fire people if she does not like them. She was the chief architect behind the dumpster fire of a move to 1 Heritage, for which she congratulated herself on how "successful" a move it was on the Monday Morning Meeting. The new building at 1 Heritage uses a "hotel" system for seating. Nobody has an assigned seat, and your spot will be taken if you don't reserve it on their new app. By the way, the new app still does not work, and you still cannot reserve a seat. So have fun finding a new desk every day you come in. By the way, if you happen to be working on the wrong ticket when a customer complains to Rob Hale, you will be fired for no reason. This has happened multiple times, and the people fired were too scared to sue because Granite would rather throw money at hiring lawyers than paying their employees a proper wage for the work done. On that note, you will not be compensated fairly. You will be underpaid in comparison to any job you have worked before, or will after. You will be required to work harder than in your retail job that you're coming from, because the company does not hire enough support staff for their given volume of sales. Get in, get your certs, and get out ASAP. Do not expect to move up in the company unless you are a yes man to the core, that is the only way you will move up.
