Pros

If you want to get your start in the industry. Then move on to another company. Benefits are ok.

Cons

Graybar is behind the times . Pay is terrible. You have to work for a very long time and be in outside sales to make money . I talked to other women that had been working there for years and making low 40’s. I wouldn’t stick around that long and suffer. It’s decent if you just got out of college and be your first job. As an adult with bills you will barely survive.

Thank you for leaving a comment. At Graybar we do everything we can to ensure salaries are commensurate with experience, but there are many factors that are taken into account when determining someone's pay. We also benchmark our jobs to ensure we pay in line with the industry, profession, and geographic areas.

Career not Job

Pros

I enjoy the job that I do. My team puts the customers first and we all have the same goals. Pay is decent and benefits are fantastic. Being employee owned is a huge thing. My branch manager is really easy to get along with if you do your job but holds people who are impeding the process accountable for their actions.

Cons

The district team seems to have trouble communicating and being on the same page. While I am not adverse to change the new DVPseems to be focused primarily on the financial statement without the understanding that short staffing branches will ultimately lose the company money. He also needs to understand that what worked in his old district will not necessarily work in his new one.
