Pros

I especially liked being graded on the rooms I cleaned, that motivated me to pay attention to every detail in order to clean better

Cons

Some of the management would train people differently which some of the housekeepers wasn't experienced.

Pros

Guests and coworkers were friendly

Cons

Worked with probably the most controlling Director I have ever met. A micro-manager who would not let you do your job and blamed others for their unhappiness. Leaders are in an organization to fix problems and find solutions, right? With this Director, every problem was a dramatic crisis, and by the way, it was your fault. As a department we constantly had to stop what we were doing and get sucked up into this person's bad day. Every day that I worked there I left the office feeling verbally abused. In hindsight I wish I would have spoken to their boss right then and told them about their behavior, but I just wanted it to stop. All in all, working at Great Wolf Lodge taught me who not to be like as a leader in an organization, and I suppose for that I am grateful. And for others still working with this person, I hope they speak up. I wish I would have. You can read this review and try to push blame by saying I'm some disgruntled fired employee, but that's not true. It was a horrific work environment, which was too bad because I really enjoyed working with many of my other colleagues.

Pros

Its a job. You get money.

Cons

They grab teens to come work in their ill-ventilated indoor waterpark and the teens get SICK because of all the chlorine in the air. It was so common, it was nicknamed "Lodge cough." You would start coughing after work, and everyone would be like "yeah that's that lodge cough" like its normal. Why? Because it was. My eyes would burn after every single shift. On my drive home, I once had to pull over because I was coughing so bad. I quit for that reason, and my health immediately improved afterwards.
