The health insurance benefits and retirement plans are very beneficial to employees to participate in.

It takes a very long time to move up in the company

You truly do make an impact in this role as you support our customers, book their transactions, and prepare accounts for accurate funding and billing. We take our team member’s growth and development seriously while encouraging them to own their development. Opportunities for personal and professional development have evolved within the Documentation function as GreatAmerica has grown over the years. We sincerely hope that you have been presented with these opportunities to grow within your role and collaborated with your leader to create your personal plan for continued professional development. If you feel that this has not the case, we would encourage you to seek out your leader(s) to discuss and create a development plan or to Human Resources for additional guidance. We have many wonderful and tenured team members at GreatAmerica and in the Documentation group which creates challenges for our functional leadership as they prepare team members for future leadership roles; when they are only able to select one. Pros

The company culture was my #1 reason of many for working here. From the top down, I felt supported and encouraged and that many opportunities were provided to help me reach my goals.

Cons

The interview process, while effective at identifying good candidates that fit the company culture, can be somewhat rigorous and unforgiving.

Pros

No, no one is looking over my shoulder, this is an awesome place to work when covid hit they took care of their employees and always strive to do the right thing

Cons

there is a lot of management, so at times it can be difficult to push things forward. On the plus side, there are open lines to bring concerns to any person in the organization

You bring to mind one of our principles at GreatAmerica: we trust and treat each other with respect. Each of us, living this principle day in and day out, creates an atmosphere that is supportive. We lookout for each other and we empower our team members to do the right thing! We appreciate your perspective that there is “a lot of management” making it difficult sometimes to move things forward. From our perspective, adding new leadership roles within the organization is one way we continue to invest in our people. Promotion from within is a critical aspect of our culture, but we know that in order to maintain the strong team-based environment where ideas can flow easily we must have strong training programs for our leaders and organizational processes. In combination, these assist in providing support for moving things forward. Thank you for this feedback, we truly appreciate it. As a result we will continue to evaluate our New and Tenure Leadership Development curriculum and our organizational systems, such as our Idea Forum, to ensure our team members do feel strongly supported by both so they may get their ideas across the finish line.
