Pros

Consistently developing new technologies and materials. GTC is focused on the high-end applications typically seen as capability-limiting by its customers.

Cons

They sometimes lose sight that the "regular" applications provide good residual income and can finance the R&D efforts towards the "technologically advanced" product development.
