Pros

Great leadership. The people I worked with there were fantastic, and I learned a lot. I respect the leadership. However, it's a very prototypical capitalistic company. This is a "pro" because you at least know where you stand and where the company values lie. The mission is clear to everyone. It's all about earning money for the shareholders. Depending on your perspective, I can see where this could be a "con" as well. If you are a white-collar worker, you get paid fairly, and the work is reasonable. I didn't see many people working more than 40 hours per week. Very little politics.

Cons

Blue-collar work at Greif is hard, dirty, and pays poorly. I lay some of this on the unions that I witnessed putting their constituency into positions that made it impossible for the company to be supportive as opposed to a relationship of conflict. But at the same time, it's hard to see the exec team and senior leaders make so much money compared to the plant workers' work environment and hourly wage.

Pros

You can make decent money.

Cons

Management is terrible. The money is not worth dealing with them.
