Incredibly toxic

Pros

We had a manager that was a good person but they couldn't handle the abuse either. Another manager had to quit because their doctor told them they would die from the stress at this place if they didnt.

Cons

Lost hundreds of thousand of pounds of product. Who's fault was this? The employees of course, it couldn't possibly be their inventory process. Would never truly fix the machines, just refurbish parts and hope the next one is refurbished in time. Took away breaks to "improve productivity". Demonstrating perfectly their inability to relate to employees as human. Constantly raising production goals as the machines got worse. Would force crews to work 10 hours / 6 days a week, rather than letting them do 12 hours / 5 days a week. Stating "if they don't want to do 6 days, they'll work harder" as if it's not the companies fault for not fixing their machines. Tried to use our "bonus" as incentive. $100-$300 every quarter isn't an incentive, it's barely a bonus. Never got in a hurry to replace employees that quit (they quit all the time) leaving the one who are actually trying to help the place succeed to pick up the slack. Not just 1 or 2 extra jobs, usually 4-9 extra jobs. Around $18 an hour and doing 5-10 jobs, we were paid $1.80-$3.60 an hour per job. (Plus our bonus of course) Told us we couldn't clock out for lunch anymore and just work a straight 8, as if we ever only worked 8 hours, and could no longer leave for lunch to, again, improve productivity. While increasing production goals, they took away our knives and gave use safety knives. This sounds fine, until you understand that cutting 2 inches into a roll of paper with a blade that 1/8 inch long just doesn't work. What should have happened was buying ppe instead of taking away essential tools. Since their new knives didn't work, we had to tear off the outter 2 inches of the rolls, wasting raw material. Most of the abuse was directed towards good employees, because they would get it done. Others would be allowed to slack off because they wouldn't do it even if told to . Would they fire these people? No, read above, "we're already short-handed". As if letting someone not do their job and keep their employment helps at all. They gave us a nice banner on the wall to look at during Covid. I could go on for days...

Ethical Issues, poor culture

Recommend
CEO approval
Business Outlook

Pros

some of the people are great, benefits, pay

Cons

a lot of ethical issues, certain people follow their own agenda, and they have become untouchable. it would be a great place to work if it was lead like a real company and not the mom and pop shop in the corner. The only way this will change is to get rid of middle management all together...
