Pros

Initially it seems like a good fit. You get fitted with a rise mentor to help you, and really that’s the ONLY person to onboard you.

Cons

There is no support from upper management what so ever. If you lose your staff members because they are also being over worked and under paid and you find yourself as the only person in the office instead of getting support from upper management the client is put above your needs. The client is ALWAYS prioritized. There is no work life balance at all. They would rather have you work 7+ days a week than find someone to support you in the office. If you ask for support or tell them that you are unable to work you are berated to feel like you are not being “flexible” enough. If you have a family don’t work here. If an emergency occurred and you had to leave work you would have no support finding someone to help you if you are under staffed. Employees are extremely over worked and under paid. The client is valued far more than the employees. Upper management always thinks of themselves first before employees under them.

Pros

1. Depending on owner, the pay can be very good. 2. Ability to move up to manager fairly quickly if you have a degree and are a fast learner. 3. Training is decent if you have a good manager. 4. Benefits are comprehensive.

Cons

1. Sites are highly understaffed to a point that it makes taking vacations difficult. 2. The software systems are archaic and need a lot of improvement (even though we pay a lot of money for them). 3. Upper management is out of touch and expects too much from on-site staff. 4. Upper management will do anything for the owners even at the expense of the staff. 5. Salaries are difficult to negotiate. I have tried twice to negotiate salary in 3 years during promotions and have been denied both times. 6. The "Beyond Expectations" slogan is difficult to buy into. 7. New policies come out all the time with no regard on how it will affect the on-site team members.

Pros

Greystar has provided me with the opportunity to grow professionally as a Community Manager. They have excellent training, smooth on-boarding procedures, and a huge support system to lean on during trying times. Employees are provided all the necessary resources to do their best job. The culture promotes growth from within and a great salary/benefits package. Greystar excels in both career and personal growth, they really do encourage you to become the best you that you can be. Individuality is greatly encouraged and an open line of communication at the corporate level is unparalleled to other companies.

Cons

Greystar does demand more from their team members, but if you are like me, there is nothing more satisfying than the feeling of accomplishment a full work day brings.
