Pros

Amazing company culture. Grocery Outlet is transparent, a very flat organization and truly empowers the employees! I have a wonderful team that is supportive and most importantly, FUN! We all work very hard because we LOVE what we do! We have an on-site gym, open work space, a "culture club" that supports amazing company events and a true family first state of mind.

Cons

It's an office...there will always be "Office Politics" at ANY company. I hope we work hard to keep that at a minimum here but I have noticed it happens.

Pros

Many of the employees including myself come from very large and well known companies and are tired of the large corporate structure where you just feel like a cog in the wheel. Here you see people who are passionate about their jobs, have fun and want to make a difference in the community. There is very low turn over at headquarters so 15 - 30 years of service is normal. All areas of the company are upgrading and modernizing. The management wants everyone to work smarter not harder. The new headquarters in Emeryville is fantastic and I love the gym and subsidized lunches. They even bring in outside corporate fitness programs just so you have variety. This is a family oriented company that does not discourage family members working in the same office. In this company you hit the ground running.

Cons

The company is growing so fast that space is always an issue. They could use more variety in work schedules for employee work life balance. 40 hours, 5 days a week is the norm here.

Pros

I've been with GO for a little over two years and I have to say that it's far and away the best company I've ever worked for. The culture if pleasant and encouraging, with an emphasis on working together. Great benefits and training are available, plus you are given the opportunity to be relatively independant. Everyone is managed in a very positive manner.

Cons

I haven't really found anything that I'd complain about. The atmosphere here is so very good.
