Pros

Good pay & commissions, hybrid working, salary on time

Cons

Where do I begin? In my opinion, the biggest challenge at Groupon UAE is the leadership. The current Country Manager does not demonstrate the level of sales leadership I would expect for someone managing a sales-driven organization. There was a noticeable disconnect between management and the day-to-day realities of the sales team, and the Country Manager was often absent from the office while other employees were held to different expectations. The Sales Team Lead was, in my experience, not an effective leader. There were frequent concerns around communication, responsiveness to merchants, and overall accountability. This made it difficult for the team to receive the guidance and support needed to succeed. The workplace culture felt heavily influenced by favoritism. Employees who appeared to have a close relationship with management seemed to receive greater flexibility, including work-from-home opportunities and more relaxed attendance expectations, while others were expected to meet stricter standards. This created the perception that relationships mattered more than performance. The environment also felt overly political, with gossip and internal dynamics often taking priority over collaboration and results. Rather than rewarding merit and hard work consistently, the culture sometimes made it feel as though staying in management's good books was more important. The compensation and commission structure can look attractive at first, but the sales targets are highly aggressive and the pressure is intense. Without strong leadership and consistent support, meeting expectations can be extremely challenging. If you're looking for a transparent, merit-based workplace with strong sales leadership, I would recommend carefully evaluating the management culture before accepting an offer.

Pros

Great company to learn, quick work blockers resolution, acceptance of mistakes, paid packages for AI experiments, good compensation. There is a lot of room to grow or switch the career internally. And the team, of course.

Cons

All the time terminations. Most of which are immediate. You speak to a person and in an hour their icon is grey with no good byes said. It doesn’t feel as a human approach. Due to the recent lay offs, the atmosphere in the offices globally is close to a funeral. Looks like the terminated people are just numbers, they don’t look at the function the one was doing and the burden on the team it will put as a consequence.
