Pros

-Willing to train people instead of expecting someone to come in with every single thing they want -Great work environment IF you have a good district manager, my boss the district manager was laid off and I was given the most micromanager ever as a replacement, would not recommend Gabi -In theory you have a lot of freedom to do whatever you want with the site, but in reality it is not always the case -Shorter hours in winter time -Get to drive Zamboni in winter time -Outside all day/moving around all day -Regular customers will get to know you and will sometimes bring you lunch -Great experience for beginners -Get to kayak/paddle board/ canoe -Get to make own schedule -Great health care option -Have locations all over America and could potentially relocate

Cons

-Will lie to you about the amount of hours you will actually be working -I was told multiple times in my interview and immediately after being hired that I would receive a 10% no matter what and when the time came, I did not receive one and no one would tell me why -Will work 60 hours a week during busy season and be expected to be on call 24/7. Even on your days off you will be required to answer your phone, even if the boathouse is closed and nothing is going on -Will be heavily guilted into working 24/7 by others working at the company and if you try to set boundaries they will make your job a little harder each day by being as annoying and pushy as possible -Theoretically get to make your own schedule but you better be able to have zero life outside of work/ have no weekends or holidays to yourself -Not a lot of opportunity for advancement unless you want to join corporate ladders

Pros

Mt Rainier National Park is a beautiful place to work.

Cons

I have never encountered such miserable working conditions. Management is utterly inept and lacks any communication skills. They gaslight constantly. There's name-calling. Employees are chosen for harassment. I would avoid this company at all costs...even a seasonal position. Housing is rundown and outdated. The employee food leaves a lot to be desired. You're constantly monitored and recorded. This company gives the facade of being inclusive, but their stance is completely different among management.

Pros

I helped management open the new beach front cafe and met them with the keys t get in the new business. I was always friendly and outgoing to management and the customers even though the locals were very skeptical of all the new business and all the lack of communication to the public.

Cons

Head cook was more interested in fliting with his younger friend and trying to impress his father. We had lots of flys which they would snap with the towels around the food . We had lots of rodents and rat droppings. I had to cook outside and in the park because of issues with health dept. I finally quit when they asked me to take a 4 dollar in hour pay cut with very few hours and I would only be able to serve beveages once they got the liquor license figured out . I could go on and on how a manager tried to take my back pack to his car and how i was humiliated due to my age. The manager is gone but they won't hire me back which is fine. Beware of false misleading communication and discrimination from upper management and HR.
