Pros

I enjoyed the position a lot in the aspect that I managed my own department independently but still had the support of upper management when needed. We generally had slow summers and more time to recover from busy season.

Cons

At times, it seemed like we needed better tools to do our job and it was difficult getting them, as purchases were very closely monitored. We also worked very long hours, very physical events, exposed to the elements and weather. My position was easily a two person position, being done by one. Requires a very dedicated hard working person to handle the work load individually.
