Guest supply is owned by Sysco and because of that it’s super corporate driven. So much red tape on anything you want done. They don’t truly care about the greater good of the customers, which is frustrating when you are a sales consultant and just want to help your customers succeed. All the company cares about is the bottle line. Which I understand, but when I first started a Guest Supply it had a family feel and there was true care for the people. All the middle managers are “yes” men so nothing productive ever gets done. They just tell the higher ups what the want to hear so they check the box and look good so maybe they can get promoted one day. That’s super annoying because you’ll see a lot of problems that could have easy solutions (inventory issues, distribution issues, etc) but they just don’t fix it or listen to advice on how it could be easily smoothed out. Pay was changed last October from commission to these horrible salaries plus KPI bonuses. They can choose whatever kpi metrics they so desire for the quarter. You won’t get your true #s until half way through the quarter AND they will choose and set kpis so unrealistic that you probably won’t hit them anyway. And even if you do, they money isn’t there. This jobs pay is more for someone right out of college looking for minimum pay and the opportunity to get something on their resume and then move on. It didn’t used to be that way but just know that if you’re trying to make “good” money it’s not there to be made. Just mediocre pay.
