Pros

Great people - Everyone is smart and hard-working There is plenty of visibility They give everyone a lot of responsibility (especially since we were growing so quickly) They give raises/promotions based on contributions to the company. I received a raise after only 8 months, and even heard stories about people getting two raises in a one-year span. This kept me motivated Management cares about employee happiness. It's part of the culture, and they take it seriously

Cons

The only reason I left Guidebook was to pursue my master's degree, and I may very will return to Guidebook after school.

Pros

+ Large majority of coworkers were bright, friendly, hard working and awesome. + One of the better places I worked at (in the beginning). + Interesting product and it's the best in the industry. + Early days were great, growing brought about problems (or increased previous ones). + Fun offsites with coworkers you can actually like and some good core benefits.

Cons

+ Upper management is a cool kids club problem. + Kinda college/fratty vibe which has become an issue since growing. + Regularly posts fake reviews here (lots of 4-5 star reviews directly after a negative one with generally the same content) + Transparency is lacking and numbers can be vague or exaggerated. + Places more value on head count than contributions - guilt tripping constantly. + Lots of "friends" of upper management are given new positions they know nothing about AND given full control over it. Speaking up makes you a problem to management. + Management removes multiple people the day before announcing more funding and company success - likely part of the terms of raising the capital. + Brings up excuses to let go or fire people, even without warnings after giving former positive reviews and even raises. + Will also disrespectfully announce one sided excuses for letting someone go to the whole company.
