Pros

The department I’m in has endless opportunities for learning, growing, expanding your skillset.

Cons

Basically, overworked and understaffed. More than other companies/teams I’ve been on, the work is always coming at an intense level. The entire (>3 years) I’ve been here, there hasn’t been a manageable period to catch your breath. Leadership naturally cares more about getting the next contract than they do about who can staff it.

I felt like I was supporting a good cause. It was a remote job to help tenants and landlord who were struggling in NYS and NYC from COVID.

Cons

It was very disorganized. There were sometimes over 400 people on a Microsoft teams call. The application process for tenants and landlord, who were trying to receive financial relief, was incredibly inefficient.

_Competitive Salaries (negotiate upon hiring, raises are not good). _Guidehouse has a lot of opportunities for growth. _Paid training. _Discretionary Time Off & Sick Leave _On my particular contract, the contract manager is very good.

Cons

_While they promote work / life balance, the added work over and above your job is a bit much at times. _Their corporate tools are spread across a multitude of platforms. It's an exercise in frustration each time they push required training. If you fall onto a federal contract, you will have that frustration doubled, since you will also need to know which logon to use, and when. _Accessing corporate email is an exercise in frustration. If you are lucky enough to be given a corporate laptop, this won't be an issue... for the rest, be prepared to have corporate ask to install their managed software on your personal devices. _Some of the required training feels as though its busy work for the side of the company that is waiting on their next task.
