Pros

Nothing... run far far away.

Cons

A) HORRIFIC LEADERSHIP - The Directors of PS Digital Services have no clue what they're doing, are horrific leaders, and truly enjoy making our lives suck. They lead by fear and panic and literally blame everyone for their mistakes, resulting in crappy morale, 90% churn rate, and a broad sense of worthlessness and insecurity. They've blocked people from transferring, they throw associates under the bus, treat clients like garbage, and yell at us all the time! Absolutely crazy. B) BORING PROJECTS - Due to Guidehouse's insanely high rates, we never win any exciting or innovative projects. Instead, we win work based on who can pay our rates... literally, the most boring projects ever (e.g. tweeting for gov't agencies, basic photoshop work, etc). C) ZERO WORK-LIFE BALANCE - I missed a lot of family and social events... and I had to start asking for weekends off!! D) LOW BUDGET - Everything is low budget, so we have to scrap by using outdated tools, methods, and resources. There's very little DevOps infrastructure in place, so project work takes twice as long to implement. E) LACK OF ADVANCEMENT - There's absolutely no room to grow, my skill sets are underutilized, there's no money for learning new skills/tools or conferences, and the worst part is that all of this is used against me (as if it's my fault) during promotion time. F) WORTHLESS HR – These are truly awful people who suck up to leadership while ignoring serious leadership issues in the company. I tried telling them about the horrific leaders of the digital team and it was used against me.

Pros

- Metro accessible - Talented, motivated data analysts, BAs, UX/visual designers, and developers - Interesting, fast-paced projects

Cons

- Guidehouse’s digital practice suffers from toxic office politics at the leadership level that penalizes honest critique/critical thinking. This has resulted in the team’s main software project lacking a logical development process. While there are skilled people below leadership that have extensive experience with Agile methodologies and software development, anyone interested in improving things has to constantly navigate a minefield of sensitive egos and unnecessary hierarchy. Most who have tried have been either shut down or pushed out of the team, as management seems to prioritize keeping up good optics with partners/clients rather than allowing the team to self-organize and address the critical process issues head-on. - Due to widespread mismanagement, system requirements and development progress are not effectively tracked. While they will talk in Agile and Scrum terms during client meetings for optics purposes, leadership does not to seem fully grasp the basics (some are from a non-technical background). The result is a chaotic mess of a solution that has not been tested in any real capacity. When the team tries to address these issues, management falls back on defending the dysfunctional status quo as if it is worth saving. Meanwhile, all of this is becoming increasingly visible to clients and the rest of the firm.

Pros

Very talented employees and supports an array of meaningful engagements.

Cons

- Some of the most entitled people I have ever met, and extremely demeaning of people and their backgrounds. Many comments about peoples appearance and their educational backgrounds. - If you go to a schools that isn't perceived as top tier, please don't apply - There is a work life balance which is work & sleep - Zero development of employees shifting from PwC to Guidehouse was extremely painful. Much of the infrastructure was ripped away and leaving no legacy development programs. - Managers need to realize they are just another consulting firm and the pedigree from PwC is no longer in place. Talent and brand awareness will develop in-time, but there is unrealistic expectations that the organization will attract the same talent that PwC did.
