Pros

-Smart, young, competent employees - Interesting exposure to many industries -Great 401K match (10%) - Growing industry (doing well because of Covid)

Cons

-Overworked (told I am not allowed to take a lunch, told I am not allowed to log off on time at the end of the day, work 8:30-7:30 most days). Associates are constantly stretched thin and burnt out. Hard to work so much for only 55K. - Client Service Associate= LinkedIn recruiter. You spend all day surfing LinkedIn and messaging people. You send thousands of messages a week. - Everyone thinks Guidepoint is a scam. I spent a lot of time conviving people Guidepoint is legitimate. Also, Guidepoint is very secretive, we are told to keep project intentions secret. - No overtime compensation and there is a very minimal reward for completing projects/ recruiting leads. The bonus is a bracket system, it is very minimal and no incentive to go beyond. -Company seems to prey on recent graduates from XYZ schools that were involved in sports, greek life, etc., and convince them this company is great. A lot of times this company is sold as a "consulting" career, in reality, you are just a LinkedIn bot. -High turnover rate- there is a reason everyone leaves after 0-2 years... -No prospect of growth, being a Research Manager or Project Manager is barely an upgrade. There is little monetary gain for these positions and you essentially do the same job. -They rank all the associates every week in an email that gets sent to everyone, this seems to be a very questionable practice. -Very high stress, everyone is on edge and everything needs to be done instantaneously.

Pros

Good starting salary. Colleagues at your level or just above friendly and helpful.

Cons

Work life balance atrocious. People appear to be working across all hours of the night and on weekends. Unless you are firm with colleagues sending you work at the last minute of the day and say you will do it tomorrow you will be working late. People then ask why you were working so late and assume you are inefficient. Emphasis on communication with manager; ends up being a one-way street where you are made to feel stupid for asking any questions. Senior staff spend more time chasing their next commission than assisting with development or giving any advice if you are not hitting target. Talk of holding regular sessions to help improve performance, one session then no follow-up. Patently dislikable and unfriendly senior management who would only reach out to give you an earful. Very quickly began to dread any sort of communication from more senior colleagues. The place is a revolving door. No real interest in helping juniors, sink or swim is the unwritten policy. I started in a team of CS Associates and by the time I had left a few months later it was already down to half. Someone leaving the business practically every week. Just don't bother if you don't like harassing professionals to go on calls at incredibly short notice (within the hour or the next few hours) for pay that they can make in an hour's worth of their current employment as they are all senior professionals with good salaries anyway.

While Guidepoint's official hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., at times some employees may choose to go above and beyond in service of our clients' needs, and we are extremely proud of the highly personalized client service and attention to detail they deliver. We understand that not everyone will thrive in this environment, and it does seem that self-motivated individuals who move projects forward on their own initiative are the most successful at Guidepoint. No software can accomplish the precision and level of understanding these members of our client service team dedicate to their work.
