Pros

1. 401k Match 2. Pay increases since covid to keep up with market - Still not great! 3. Holiday Pay 4. Overtime is mostly an option. 5. Job Security 6. Having the freedom to quit this place.

Cons

1. About 80% of the mechanics are from Home Depot and Walmart. You will be working with people who cant spell "Wrench". 2. You are a # not a person. 3. If you ain't a "good ole boy", you will retire in your current position and never move up. Be prepared to get a little brown on your nose and play golf with the BOYZ. 4. As a certified A&P, its very difficult to move up since A&P's in this place is like GOLD. They will try and keep you as a mechanic unless you quit. I was cold shouldered on a promotion because they needed a senior mechanic to babysit all of the new employees from Home Depot. Remember that when you apply and ask for the most money possible if you have an A&P. 5. Healthcare sucks, its a high deductible plan like many other companies.

Pros

Great compensation Unlimited resources Pride in product development

Cons

Work life balance doesn’t exist and you are just a placeholder Managers have manager have manager who also have managers and the scope of work for any job is constantly ruled by one person not knowing the full scope. Feels like a crazy and chaotic environment that never gets anything finished. Micromanaging here is enough to give anyone a heart attack

Pros

If you get a good manager/group head, you have a chance of success. Number of paid holidays are good.

Cons

Middle management is terrible. They micromanage and make single decisions that should be made by the boards. Latest survey got the salary exempt folks under 6 years a full extra week of vacation. You know to retain talent... If you have been there less than 18 years, they now bump up the vacation addition every two years instead of the old 6 yr plan. If you have 18 or more, you get nothing. I guess they don't think people above 6 years are going to leave so no extra for us. And pay raises... The promotion budget now pulls from the raise budget so is there are promotions in your leaders unit, the amount for raises drops. Promotions are hard to come by unless you are good old boy network or dei.
