Gusto presents itself as a people-first company, but in time, you’ll learn that management views employees as cogs in the machine. An engineer called out leadership on a policy change that would disproportionately affect URMs. The CEO defended the policy change and noted that there’s plenty of diverse candidates Gusto can hire to backfill any URMs that would need to leave because of the change.
