Pros

Health benefits, cool coworkers, rando gifts from the company

Cons

When I started, it was great, but unfortunately it’s gone downhill. On the CX team the newest PE has officially cut over time for end of year which is the busiest time of the year, and most of us are irritated and have no respect for that PE. The leadership for PEs have no idea what they’re doing and to top it off they just hired two more PEs externally and completely bypassed tenured members who actually know what they are doing and can get in the trenches with you. It’s extremely frustrating and if they continue, more people will leave as they have no intention keeping tenured members or allowing them to move up. Instead they just keep hiring contractors and younger people, and the training is not that great, but you’re expected to be high performing and given accounts after accounts that get more and more difficult.

Tenured teammates are all leaving

Pros

Good benefits package and hyrbrid schedule

Cons

A LOT! 1. They took away the fly away program which was worth over 1k and now only offered $250 despite the company has been doing very well during the pandemic. 2. I can't speak for other teams, but for my team, they didn't really promote within. Instead of hiring some of the best teammates to be PEs, they would rather hire someone outside the organization who has zero knowledge about our work. 3. Underpay job. The pay doesn't even reflect the quality and workload that we have. If you have done the research, you will find out the competitors offer much higher pay for the same job. 4. Lack of transparency and communication. A lot of decisions made simply lack of transparency and communication. I asked about how the new metrics came from or were calculated and no management can even answer my question and they just went live one day without any announcement. 5. For my team, almost all of the tenured members left within this year which can speak a lot of things and of course the management doesn't care because they can always train some newbies.

Pros

Unlimited PTO Lunch and snacks Health insurance

Cons

This place used to tackle their problems head on and for the last few months they ignore warnings from tenured employees and when I say toxic positivity, I mean it. Lunch is not the saving grace of being understaffed with bad tooling while leadership tells you how set for success you are. Gusto's culture has also shifted heavily in the last year and leadership has yet to acknowledge that, which is frustrating. This is NOT a place where work empowers a better life, which is supposedly our mission. You will not have enough support or tools to do your job effectively. If you are looking for growth, do not come here. Gusto does not value their internal talent at all, you will not move up at this company. Loyalty to this company does not matter to them, you are disposable and they'd rather hire externally than invest in their talent. I had high hopes for Gusto and I'm shocked this is the review I'm leaving but they did not invest in the people that have been here through tough times. They used to have a value that says "do the right thing" and you'll notice I said used to. Really disappointing how this went.
