I was part time and requested full time multiple times but never got full time. Therefore, never received benefits or PTO and the pay was mediocre. This is an overall great company to work for, but what it really boils down to is the management and the people you work with.
The major issues I had was management, both in deli and upper management. I didn't feel like I was being heard or taken care of by my deli managers, but they did a lot better than upper management in taking care of me. There didn't seem to be room for growth as it was very competitive to grow within the company.
Upper management suspended me right before Christmas for a reason I could have received a warning for instead. Then, they terminated me after Christmas. In the end I just felt nothing more than just a number instead of a partner they claimed to value. Their "People Matter" logo is a lie. They clearly value profit over people.
They then had the audacity to have me tell others what a great place HEB is to work at after terminating me.
I do not owe them anything after they decided to terminate me. Therefore, please do yourself a favor, and work anywhere else other than HEB.
