Depending on your store, management plays a great amount of favoritism. Some managers are sexist and unfair to employees. They do not provide great employee support. They state that they have an open door policy, but that is not true. You can talk to them, but you have a red target on your back and get classified as a trouble maker. I spoke with HR one time, and they did nothing, because she was best friends with my manager. Once I tried getting another job, my manager lied to the hiring manager stating that I was demoted from my position rather than leaving willingly. It's definitely hard to move up unless the managers like you.
