Pros

I love my job. I work with great people everyday. The culture is amazing. The benefits are good. I get to go home every day feeling like I contributed to a common goal and was appreciated for my efforts by my Partners.

Cons

There is not enough work/life balance. I do not know if it is just my department or my series of Managers. This company and my job in particular has the ability for much greater flexibly in the hours and schedule for salaried partners to work remotely.

Pros

I really enjoyed most of the people I worked with, I feel like all the ICs and many of the managers had a good head and wanted to get stuff done. Benefits are pretty good. It's hard to get big raises unless you get a big promotion. Most raises are going to be under 4% annually. 401k contrib is decent, but barely up to par with most places. Discount on H-E-B brand groceries is nice. Good work/life balance.

Cons

Most of the upper management in Digital is pretty toxic. It's a good ol' boys (and girls) club of older Partners who never get told they are doing poorly and fired. Managers often are creating their own little fiefdoms and are often completely disconnected from what the business wants. Lately parts of Digital (particularly Enterprise Engineering) are plagued with a bunch of bad GM hires trying to undo progress made during COVID times. When managers do get "yelled at" and their direction corrected, they will often take it out on their team. This is indicative of some of the previous store Partners where this behavior is common. Its not uncommon for a manager to throw a team member under the bus instead of admitting they screwed up and collaborating on getting out and ahead of the issues. The SADC crew creates a toxic network where if you're the one thrown under the bus, you can't move anywhere except to leave as everyone will make your life miserable, regardless of how well you are actually doing.
