Pros

They offer great benefits and unlimited PTO. They allow you to work from home. The HQ is an awesome building located in downtown KC if you get to go into the office—great location and parking.

Cons

They do not care about their employees. They make you work overtime without getting paid or compensated for it. They expect you to follow these rules and act and talk like them; if you don't, you get fired. The leadership is only in it for themselves. They will tell you they care about you and your future, but they don't. They only care about those who are of other Ethnicity and age. If you are white and over 40 you will not last long there.

Pros

Over half the people I worked with were fantastic team players that wanted to win together. Franchisees could be difficult to work with, but I enjoyed the relationships I built with most of them. Pay was decent and I appreciated the perks of hotel points.

Cons

Leadership was a challenge. Most promotions were earned because individuals could regurgitate what senior leadership was leading...with all the "buzz" words. My time with HRB started with it being a relationship business and turned into a transactional business...instead of leading with heart, we were all checking boxes.

Pros

Great location. Ample resources to do your job.

Cons

Very siloed team structure. Cliques. Tendency to promote based on tenure, not competency. Requirement to use their services or face termination. Lay offs every year in May.
