Pros

It’s a fast-paced role, but the people here are supportive and motivating. Leadership doesn’t micromanage — they trust each CSM to support their assigned clients in the way they believe is most effective, while also being open and receptive to any challenges or pain points you may face.

Cons

The SaaS industry is often influenced by market conditions and competition, which can affect organizational stability. Keeping up with frequent changes and updates — and communicating them effectively to clients — can be challenging at times.

Pros

I work within the technical team, we have had high career growth and a stable team. In the last year, more than a quarter of the organization has gotten promoted and turn over was less than fifteen percent. Managers and leaders have long tenures leading to most of the team having stable management, but movement does happen, usually to better align with business needs, whether laterally or vertically. The team has used the last year to really focus on how we can leverage data and technology together and the members of technical team (Data, product and engineering) have close working relationships. This can really be an advantage, when goals are clear and parts of the company are aligned, there is less work that needs to be redone, is unnecessary, or doesn't meet the client need. While these relationships are always a work in progress, the collaboration is an effort to which everyone in technical leadership is committed. There have been multiple efforts to ensure standard practices within my section of the organization, including weekly 1:1 meetings with managers and trainings for managers to give regular and consistent feedback to team members. For new employees and for those moving to new roles there is on the job training, and for longer term work in increasing skill capacity managers are encouraged to coach directs, and find resources even on skills they do not directly have experience with. This is intended to help managers and those on their teams build trust, give regular performance communication and ensure high alignment on what needs to be done in each role.

Cons

Unfortunately we've had to have layoffs in the past, and those leave lasting marks on a team. Some of the people who were laid off in past years were rehired when opportunities became available. In addition, a global team always needs to do work to come together and find ways of working that make sense. This can mean off hour meetings (usually planned and for more senior people). Generally there is flexibility to work the hours that make sense to get work done.
