Pros

People are great, company makes tons of money, great work/life balance and work is relatively simple

Cons

Medical benefits are ridiculously expensive. All while HR tries to convince the employee that they are great benefits! HR is well below average. Company just went public and they don't quite understand... i.e. offered 5% discount on stock to employees, which was viewed as a joke by almost everyone. Leadership team basically argues among each other while everyone else tries to figure out what needs to happen next. Very silo'd work environment.

Pros

• Work-life balance • Most people are nice, collaborative, intelligent and hardworking • Convenient location to freeway location, gas, lunch, Starbucks, Vons • Small cafeteria (albeit somewhat unpleasant smelling) • Ice available as well as vending machines for soda and snacks on each floor • Depending on the manager, incredible process improvement is possible with a wide degree of latitude

Cons

Employee related • Pay and benefits • Employee survey results used to reduce health care options and eliminate bonuses • Criticism for the company or decisions will be dealt with by HR immediate termination Working conditions (Scripps Summit Court) • Most people are nice, collaborative, intelligent and hardworking. That leaves the other people...see tip below • Laptops are heavy (a factor if you have a bad back) • Dual monitors require justification • Aging office furniture that have rips and stains, which can be embarrassing with vendors or other visitors • Almost all projectors need new bulbs so color does not show very well • Internal staircase does not have rubber grips so do take care if wearing shoes without good grip • Filtered water has a hint of a mold flavor • Dark cubicles and hallways, most cubicles do not have any natural light Tips • Review full details of all benefits before negotiating salary (think 3 year 401k vesting, high deductible health care plans are the only options) • The “other people” mentioned above will take a lot of time and effort. Try to buddy them with someone who can help them cover the basics, then be available for questions. • Stay away from HR

Pros

Mon-Fri, growth from within, always learning something new, good systems except when they don't work but everyplace has "outages" Management in my area does not micro manage my team is treated like professional career minded adults not just hourly workers

Cons

The pay in my area needs to compare to others that touch sales. We have no compensation plan for bonuses like other areas that work directly with sales and this has caused several tenured talented associates to leave in order to make the amount of money the same role makes with other companies.
