      Pros

      Advancement, schooling, career path are all sky is the limit here. Tuition help, healthy living benefits.... They are paying for my health insurance this year since I quit smoking. Promoted twice in three years. I came from an industry that devalues is force and this is a huge difference. HD cares about its family members.

      Cons

      Understanding that people are sue happy and entitlement is rampant the company has a habit of letting lazy people who are not as productive as others keep there jobs when they should be at McDonald's wondering what happened.

      good experience, opportunity to move around, well paid, interesting work in an evolving business strategy that is sensitive to the market pressures; recently went public so another level of stakeholders to answer to

      lots of hours, individual achievement is emphasized, small profit margins so working on volume, difficult to constantly hit goals without realigning people, fluid workforce and constant fear that your job is next

      Locations throughout the United States. Vacation begins to accrue from day one of employment. Company does believe in closing for most holiday's and weekends which allows you to have a decent work/life balance.

      Cons

      Lacking a program which helps employees grow within the company. No programs in place to help defined career paths. Continuing education is not a high priority.
