Pros

Great people, good teamwork, lots of talent.

Cons

Many businesses and functional areas operate in silos...there should be more knowledge sharing across the organization.

Pros

Some of the people that work there which are the old Hughes employees were a joy to work with. I must say that we were able to learn a great deal though that has prepared us for the next job. However, that is no reflection on management doing a great job of preparing us. It is the result of lost training dollars and employees having to figure out the answers ourselves through a wonderful training guide called "Google!"

Cons

Senior leadership team is a joke. They definitely have an elevated view of themselves. They actually have no idea how their direct reports actually feel about them. Hughes Supply as it was formally known did quite well without the interference of the former GE employees. GE is such a large company and I along with many others often felt like if these employees were so prized, why is that they are no longer at GE. WHAT A JOKE!!!

Pros

Branch level associates are great people that are fun to work with.

Cons

These are my opinions based on my experience in Colorado, Arizona, Texas and, Southern California. There is way too much big brother, watching, and dictating, the smallest detail of daily customer interaction. There are way too many directives, usually to cut expenses or head count, at the expense of salaried workers family time. The best performers are overloaded and burning out. Inventory control form corporate is not realistic. They need to give middle management enough rope the pull the wagon. Upper management needs to trust the middle managers to do their job. (If they are managers, let them manage.) Upper management makes way too many people placement and termination decisions based on emotion and friendships. (Upper Management = Regional Management)
