Pros

The size and reputation of the company definitely help with centralized and well structured corporate marketing information to pull from. With so many offices and employees comes a large pool of resources to pull information and/or help from. The benefits are great and definitely take advantage of the employee owned stock program. Specific to my role, I felt like I had a lot of resources marketing wise to efficiently do my job. Again, the fact that there are so many marketing staff to get help/ideas from is a huge plus.

Cons

My biggest cons, specific to my role, would be the lack of career advancement and discussions about goals, career development, and an established plan for each employee. Annual reviews are used to gauge areas of improvement and to recognize employees for their hard work. However, there's little to no discussion on a 1-2 year plan for advancement and the steps needed to advance in general. With so many employees, there's a limitation on how much you can grow and advance due to so many people being in front of you at the next step. I would also say another con would be separation of responsibilities according to titles. I was hired shortly after another staff member in the same group, and while they had prior experience in other roles with other companies, the workload and responsibilities were the same, despite my coworker being a "Senior-Level". I found myself working the same, if not more than the Senior-Level staff and wasn't being compensated equally for that work.

Pros

The collaborative structure of the company encourages an entrepreneurial spirit. Most employees take ownership of their position and have a voice in their team. Generally the job is stable and I have never been pressured to work more than 40 hours save the occasional last minute deadline. The benefits package is also the best I've seen for a company of this size.

Cons

You get out what you put in. This is generally a good thing, but if you don't take ownership of your role and work hard to contribute effectively, you will have a hard time. The normal trappings of a large company are also present but to a much lesser degree - bureaucracy, interpersonal conflict, slow to innovate, etc.

Pros

Used to be a great place to work. (Past tense.)

Cons

Falling asleep at your desk gets you promoted. Maybe that's actually a pro instead of a con?
