Pros

Easy money, just got to show up every day. Decent benefits. Most employee centric HR dept I've ever worked for.

Cons

Pay is NOT competitive, constant turn around due to this. The company boasts at every meeting about breaking sales and profit records, but the raises do not reflect that. They have even put into place a system that punishes overachievers by putting them in a higher bracket of expectations and responsibilities while your contemporaries phone it in on a daily basis. In spite of the employee centric hr dept, they will still protect bad supervisors and managers that are responsible for the rest of the massive turnaround. Shipping dept is ran like a frat house with leads and supervisors sucking butt for the manager while they go out and party on the company dime. Sexual harassment is not taken seriously, especially from supervisor and up positions. And HR will back them until you get yourself fired or quit, because they value those positions more than the people that do the work and make the company money.

Pros

I don't really get the recent negative reviews. If you are here to work then you will do just fine, but of course, if you just want to surf the web all day then you are going to get the wrong kind of attention. This is the case with any job, not just here. Someone with little to no experience with the right attitude and drive can move up within the company and have a real career. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming... no, seriously, they are. Management seems pretty chill with regard to scheduling. Yes, you may need to work a weekend or evening as part of your shift, but they are willing to work with you if you need time off or even a schedule change. Many pros: We just moved into a new building that has tons of cool features: onsite gym, showers, bocci ball courts, amazing view of the ocean. The company sponsors many activities, including team bowling, soccer, softball, foosball, yoga, as well as many charity events such as the Heart Walk, various food drives, etc. The list goes on and on. A recognition and rewards program was launched a few months ago and so far it's pretty cool. Your coworkers or management or even other departments can give you kudos of sorts that translate into points. You can redeem "points" for things like food or gift cards or even tickets to the Zoo. Standard company benefits, 401k, healthcare, etc. They start you off with 3 weeks vacation which you accrue right away after your 90 days instead of having to wait the whole year like a lot of places plus an additional 6 sick days/yr. Telecommuting is an option here where it's not in many places. Overall, this is a large corporation that still treats people like they care about them as if it were still a small company. For me, this is important. I don't feel like I am just a number.

Cons

Traffic can be tough sometimes if you don't live in North County, but that's anywhere with San Diego really.
